Summary
In a near-future Tokyo-3 rebuilt after a global cataclysm, the secretive paramilitary organization NERV deploys giant biomechanical mecha called Evangelions to fight enigmatic invaders known as Angels. Reluctant teenager Shinji Ikari is summoned by his estranged father to pilot Unit-01, and alongside fellow pilots Rei and Asuka he is forced to confront the trauma, isolation, and fragile identity beneath humanity's last line of defense.
