Summary
Picking up from the 2019 film, the demon child Ne Zha and the dragon prince Ao Bing survive the heavenly tribulation as souls, their physical bodies destroyed. Their master Taiyi Zhenren tries to rebuild both with a seven-coloured lotus, but the work fails for Ao Bing, leaving the two former enemies sharing Ne Zha's unstable body while they hunt for another way to restore him. That search sends Ne Zha to the immortals' palace and its punishing trials, just as resentment between the bound dragon clans and the celestial order boils toward open war around his home of Chentang Pass. Directed by Jiaozi, the Chinese animated fantasy reworks figures from the Investiture of the Gods mythology.
