Summary
A bitter, articulate drifter named Johnny flees Manchester for London, where he turns up unannounced at his ex-girlfriend's flat. Over a restless night and day, he wanders the city, engaging strangers in caustic, philosophical encounters while a parallel thread follows a cruel landlord menacing the women in the flat. Mike Leigh's bleak character study paints a portrait of alienation, rage, and apocalyptic despair in early-90s Britain.
