Summary
In a sealed, hedonistic 23rd-century domed city, every citizen must submit to death at age 30 in a ritual called Carrousel that promises rebirth. Logan, a Sandman whose job is to hunt down 'runners' who try to escape this fate, is sent undercover to find the legendary refuge called Sanctuary, and ends up fleeing the city himself with a young woman named Jessica to discover what lies beyond its walls.
