Summary
Set in 1897, the film dramatizes the Battle of Saragarhi, where Havildar Ishar Singh leads 21 Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army stationed at a remote outpost in the North-West Frontier. When roughly 10,000 Afghan tribesmen lay siege to the post, the vastly outnumbered Sikhs choose to stand and fight rather than surrender, defending their honor in one of history's most celebrated last stands.
