Summary
In post-war Germany, an American judge presides over the military tribunal of four German jurists accused of crimes against humanity for enforcing Nazi sterilization and racial purity laws. As the prosecution and defense clash over questions of personal responsibility, national guilt, and the rule of law under a corrupt regime, the judge must weigh justice against Cold War political pressures.
