Summary
Kenneth Branagh's gothic adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel follows ambitious medical student Victor Frankenstein, who becomes obsessed with conquering death after losing his mother. He succeeds in creating a sentient being from corpses, but recoils from his creation in horror, abandoning it. The rejected Creature, played by Robert De Niro, seeks understanding and connection, and when denied, exacts a terrible revenge on Victor and those he loves.
