Summary
In a future society where books are outlawed and burned by firemen to suppress independent thought, Guy Montag is a dutiful fireman who begins secretly reading the volumes he is meant to destroy. As his curiosity deepens through encounters with a free-spirited neighbor and a chilling raid, Montag's growing doubts put him on a collision course with his wife, his commander, and the conformist world he once enforced.
