Summary
Tim Burton's affectionate biopic follows Edward D. Wood Jr., the eternally optimistic cross-dressing filmmaker often dubbed the worst director of all time, as he hustles his way through 1950s Hollywood making schlock pictures like Glen or Glenda and Plan 9 from Outer Space. Along the way he forms an unlikely friendship with the aging, morphine-addicted horror icon Bela Lugosi, whose final days give the film its melancholy heart.
