Summary
Set in the 1870s in the lawless mining camp of Deadwood in the Dakota Territory, the series follows the town's growth from a muddy outpost into an organized settlement. Saloon owner Al Swearengen schemes to protect his interests while former lawman Seth Bullock arrives to open a hardware store and is eventually drawn back into keeping order. Real historical figures like Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane mingle with fictional residents amid power struggles, profanity, and frontier violence.
