Summary
In 2019, a plague has transformed most of humanity into vampires, leaving the dwindling human population farmed for blood and pushing the vampire society toward starvation. A hematologist sympathetic to humans races to develop a blood substitute, but a chance encounter with a group of survivors points him toward a very different kind of cure.
