Summary
In Tang Dynasty China, the Emperor returns to the Forbidden City on the eve of the Chrysanthemum Festival, where his ailing Empress and their three princes are entangled in a web of secret loyalties, forbidden affairs, and palace intrigue. As the Empress quietly prepares a rebellion against her ruthless husband, long-buried betrayals come to a head in a lavish, blood-soaked confrontation.
