Summary
A modern-dress adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy, directed by and starring Ralph Fiennes as Caius Martius Coriolanus, a fierce Roman general whose contempt for the common people leads to his banishment from Rome. Cast out, he allies with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler) to march on the city that rejected him, while his formidable mother Volumnia (Vanessa Redgrave) seeks to avert catastrophe.
