Summary
In July 1969, U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy drives off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island, and his young passenger Mary Jo Kopechne drowns in the submerged car. Over the following week, Kennedy, his cousin Joe Gargan, and a circle of family advisors scramble to manage the political fallout, as Ted wrestles with his conscience, his father's legacy, and what to tell the public.
