Catch-22
Two parallel scores from 129 z-qualifying reviewers and 136 raw-average reviewers. Cohort: Films · 1970s (2,406 peers).
Z-normalized corrects for reviewer bias (every reviewer re-centered onto their personal scale). Raw average uses simple mean across the broader pool including stddev=0 reviewers. The 18-point gap is the rating-inflation signature for this title — the casual crowd liked it more than discriminating reviewers (a classic inflation pattern).

Summary
During World War II, U.S. Army Air Forces bombardier Captain John Yossarian becomes desperate to stop flying combat missions over the Mediterranean, but a paradoxical military regulation known as Catch-22 makes it impossible to be grounded for insanity, since anyone sane enough to want out must keep flying. As his squadron mates die around him and his commanders keep raising the required mission count, Yossarian's resistance turns increasingly frantic.
