Summary
A lavish, controversial historical drama chronicling the rise and reign of the young Roman emperor Caligula, who ascends to power after the death of Tiberius. Once crowned, his rule descends into cruelty, paranoia, and excess as he wields absolute authority over the Senate and his court, ultimately alienating those closest to him.
