Summary
In the 1950s, a young Irish woman named Eilis emigrates from a small town in Ireland to Brooklyn, New York, in search of better opportunities. As she builds a new life and falls in love with a kind Italian-American plumber, a family tragedy calls her back to Ireland, where she must choose between two countries and two possible futures.
