Summary
In the South Dakota Badlands of the late 1950s, a charismatic young garbage collector named Kit begins a romance with Holly, a quiet 15-year-old girl. After a violent confrontation with her disapproving father, the two flee across the Great Plains, leaving a trail of killings behind them as Holly narrates their journey with detached innocence.
