Summary
A widowed Tokyo businessman, encouraged by a film-producer friend, stages a fake movie audition to meet prospective new wives. He becomes captivated by a quiet, graceful former ballerina whose past does not quite add up, and his romantic pursuit slowly curdles into something far darker. Takashi Miike's notorious slow-burn shifts from melancholy romance into one of J-horror's most harrowing finales.
