Summary
Joe Gideon, a workaholic Broadway director and choreographer, juggles editing a film, mounting a new stage musical, and managing the women in his life while fueling himself with pills, cigarettes, and booze. As his body breaks down, he confronts mortality through surreal hallucinatory conversations with an angelic figure, blurring the line between his art and his unraveling life.
