Summary
Fifty-seven years after escaping the Nostromo, Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is pulled from hypersleep to find that Weyland-Yutani has dismissed her account of the creature and colonised LV-426, the moon where her crew found the derelict ship. When contact with the terraforming settlement is lost, she agrees to go back as an adviser to a squad of Colonial Marines, alongside company man Carter Burke and the android Bishop. The marines sweep the abandoned complex, recover a lone survivor known as Newt, and find that the colonists have been cocooned by a xenomorph hive far larger than anything Ripley faced before. James Cameron's sequel to Alien recasts the original's haunted-house horror as a military siege picture.
