Summary
In 4th-century Roman Egypt, Hypatia, a philosopher and astronomer teaching at the Library of Alexandria, pursues questions about the heavens while the city is torn apart by escalating conflict between pagans, Jews, and rising Christian factions. As political and religious violence consumes Alexandria, her former slave Davus and her student Orestes, now prefect, are drawn into opposing sides of the turmoil that threatens her work and her life.
Agora is a 2009 adventure, biography and drama film.
A second review pool sits behind it as well: 1,208 Rotten Tomatoes reviewers clear the same calibration test, and Rankquant scores them separately. 163 IMDb reviewers are calibrated for this title, and those are the ones the calibrated score reads; a separate, broader pool of 169 reviewers with at least two reviews each feeds the raw-average track. Its in-cohort standing is measured against the other 7,846 2000s films, not against the whole corpus.
