Summary
Matthew Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop turned unlicensed private investigator, is hired by a drug trafficker to track down the men who kidnapped and murdered his wife. As Scudder digs in, he uncovers a pattern of similar crimes targeting the families of criminals who cannot go to the police.
