Summary

In 16th-century England, Sir Thomas More, the devoutly Catholic Lord Chancellor, refuses to endorse King Henry VIII's break with Rome and his marriage to Anne Boleyn. As pressure mounts from the king and his ambitious minister Thomas Cromwell, More clings to his conscience and his silence, navigating betrayal by friends and family while facing the ultimate cost of standing by his principles.
