Summary
In the early 20th century, a young Carl Jung begins treating a troubled Russian patient, Sabina Spielrein, using the experimental talking cure pioneered by his mentor Sigmund Freud. As Sabina recovers and trains as a psychoanalyst herself, Jung's intense relationship with her tests his marriage and fuels a growing ideological rift with Freud that will reshape the future of psychoanalysis.
